Bengaluru: The High Court has issued notice to Mata Amritanandamayi Trust over alleged misuse of land allocated for the purpose of Civic Amenities.
As reported by Prajavani, the notice was issued following a writ petition filed by residents of Bovi Colony, Kasavanahalli, Varthur Hobli.
What's the case?
22 acres land allotted was allotted by the government to the trust for the purpose of Social Welfare Activities - Construction of 2 thousand houses for widows, a superspeciality hospital, spiritual center, school for orphaned children and free medical center for underprivileged. However, the petitioners claimed that the trust does not abide by the conditions on which the plot was allotted and the land is being misused to run engineering college in the premise for commercial gains.
The High Court has also issued notices to Revenue Department, DCs, and K R Puram Tahashildar.
