After two question paper leaks in the second PU exams in March-April this year, the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) is now trying to get its act right for the 2016-17 academic year. As the first step, the department has made it mandatory for all exam centres to install CCTV cameras.
A circular issued by C. Shikha, Director, DPUE, states that all colleges which include government, aided and unaided colleges which are exam centres should install CCTV cameras by January 1, 2017.
While government colleges have been asked to utilise the cumulative funds to procure the CCTV cameras following the terms stipulated in the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act, 1999, aided and unaided colleges will have to use their own funds to ensure that CCTV cameras.
