Here we have compiled a list of the available policies regarding the award of extra marks to the student in such or such cases.
VTU Grace marks Policy
GMR 01:
A maximum of 2% of Examination vtu grace marks will be awarded to a Subject / Paper / Practical / Head if and only if after gracing the candidate will get minimum prescribed marks to passes the theory or practical subject.
GMR 02:
A maximum of 5 vtu grace marks will be awarded to the candidate, if and only if the candidate has failed in only one subject of that examination and will pass the whole exam with the grace marks and clears all the subjects.
GMR 03:
A candidate will be awarded a maximum of 5 vtu grace marks to the total aggregate if and only if by addition of extra marks the candidate will secure higher class and will declare the candidate to have passed the examination in First Class or FCD.
GMR 04:
VTU Grace marks awarded as per GMR 01 for passing a subject and GMR 02 for passing the whole examination are shown only in the ledger and not in the statement of marks. However, the grace marks awarded for getting a higher class shall be indicated along with the aggregate total of the examination.
GMR 05:
A candidate is only eligible for vtu grace marks under one of the regulations either as per GMR01 or GMR 02 or GMR 03.
GMR 06:
A candidate is awarded a maximum of 5 vtu grace marks if and only if the addition of marks to total aggregate will let the candidate secure a higher class in the award of degree.
