CET is a state level test for the state of Karnataka. Priority in it are candidates who are official resident of Karnataka but candidates out this state can also give KCET. They have to fulfill certain criteria to write KCET. Apart from this, under KCET, certain seats are reserved for candidates belonging various categories. KCET 2015 reservation seat is as below.
KCET 2015 Reservation of Seats
Categories which fall under KCET 2015 reservation of seat are:
- Special Category
- Sports Special Category
- Defence Special Category
- CAPF Category
- Physically Disabled Special Category
- Anglo-Indian Special Category
- Scouts and Guides Special Category
Apart from these other categories under reservation of seats are Schedule caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC). For rural applicants, Kannada candidates and Jammu and Kashmir Migrants are also entitled to certain provisions under KCET 2015 reservation of seats.
Provision under KCET 2015 reservation of seats for Special Category are:
- NCC Special Category - For details of number or percentage of seats reserved for NCC, candidates will have to wait for official notification but below is the list of candidates (NCC) for whom seats will be reversed.
- Candidates who posses B-Certificate of 5 years education in Karnataka plus have participated in of Republic Day Camp organized by Director General of National Cadet Corps, Delhi OR in following camps
All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys) – TSC
All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls) – TSC (G)
All India Nau Sainik Camp – NSC
All India Vayu Sainik Camp – VSC - Candidates of NCC who have been selected for DG NCC team and will participate in All India Movalankar Shooting Championship, National Level Youth Exchange Program and Foreign Naval Cruise coducted by DG, NCC
- Cadets who will be a part of All India Movalankar Shooting Championship with KAR and GOA Director Team. And have completed Mountaineering Expeditions ((over 5900 Meters), Sailing Expeditions, Motor Cycle Expeditions (more than 3500 KMs) and Cycling Expeditions (more than 1500 KMs) organized by DG, NCC / NCC Director of Karnataka & Goa.
- Candidates who have participated in following camps/ courses and have B-Certificate of 5 years for studying in Karnataka. Camps are: NIC, Mountaineering, BLC, ALC, RCTC, Trekking, Army, Navy, Air Force & Hospital Attachments.
- Sports Special Category - Below is the list of applicants who are entitle to KCET 2015 reservation of seats.
- Winner of national level cups/ medals in Super-A Games or B-Gamesand have studied for 5 years in Karnataka.
- While representing Karnataka, winner of cups and medals in Super-A and A- Games and have studied in Karnataka from 8th to 12th standard.
- Candidates who represented Karnataka in B-Games and won during period of 8th to 12th standard.
- Scouts and Guide Special Category - Applicants who are scouts/guides from 8th to 12th standard and have received “President Award” are entitle to reservation of seats under this category.
- Defence Special Category - For ward of Defence Personnel 10% seats are reserved under KCET 2015 reservation of seats.
- Physically Disabled - Physically Disabled candidates will have to produce certificate of proof to claim their entitlement of seat reservation.
- Anglo-Indian Special Category - These candidates are to produce certificate to proof that they belong to such category. This certificate should be issued by Registered Association of Anglo-Indian Community in Karnataka countersigned by Anglo-Indian M.L.A.which is Government Nominated.
- OBC/SC/ST - Candidates belonging to this category will have to produce certificate of proof stating that they belong to such category.
- Rural - Candidates belonging to rural areas have 15% of seats reserved under KCET 2015 reservation of seats. Additional clause is that these candidates should have studied 10 years in Karnataka. Their education institutions should be situated in small rural areas.
- Kannada Medium - Candidates who have completed education from Kannada Medium (1st to 10th grade) have 5% Govt. Seats reserved for them.
