KEA, Karnataka Examination Authority, conducts various exams for in take of candidates in Colleges/ Universities/ Institutions of Karnataka.
One such exam conducted by KEA is KCET. This article focuses onKCET 2015 entrance exam, which will be held on 29 and 30 of April 2015.
About KCET 2015
As stated above KCET is conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Full-form of KCET is Karnataka Common Entrance Exam. Every year, it is held for admission of candidates into various college and Universities of Karnataka. Private Un-Aided Minority, Private Non-Minority, Government and Government Aided institutions and colleges participate in KCET and offer courses related to engineering and medical.
Under KCET candidates has to first qualify a written exam after which candidates will be selected on the basis of scores and cutoff for merit list. Candidates who will make it to merit list will be called for counselling, in which they will be allotted seat as per availability and choice.

Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2015
KCET 2015 eligibility criteria is profound. To write KCET 2015 candidates must fulfill all the norms under KCET eligibility criteria. It is mandatory that candidates should have passed class 12th/ 2nd PUC/ Equivalent Exam with Mathematics a mandatory subject and attained minimum aggregate of 45% Marks (40% for ST/ SC candidates) in Mathematics, Physics along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Electronics . Candidates should have studied above mentioned subjects in English.
Apart from this, only resident of Karnataka who posses proof of their residency are eligible to write KCET 2015. Provision for candidates outside Karnataka is that they can write KCET only if they have studies 7 years in Karnataka.
Reservation of Seats in KCET 2015
Reservation of seat under KCET 2015 will be determined by KEA. Categories which are entitled to this privilege are SC/ST/OBC. Apart from this candidates belonging to NCC, Sports, Scout, Ward of Defence Personnel, Physically Disabled, Anglo-Indian, Rural Region, Kannada Medium, Jammu and Kashmir Migrants also enjoy privileges under KCET 2015 seat reservation.
Exact number or percentage of seat reserved under KCET 2015 will be issued with official notification. To claim their entitlement for reserved seats candidates should b able to produce certificates of proof. These certificates should be issued by Government recognized body.

KCET 2015 Application Form
Application form of KCET 2015 will be available online as well as offline. Candidates can fill and submit it from 30 January 2015 till 02 March 2015
To obtain application form online candidates can access the official website. Steps to fill application form are:
- Visit the official website of KCET 2015, http://kea.kar.nic.in
- Click on the link directing to ‘KCET 2015 Application Form’
- Fill all the required details.
- Upload photograph and signature.
- Submit KCET 2015 application request.
To obtain application form offline, candidates can go to respective colleges and schools. There will be certain colleges and school even institutions where application form of KCET 2015 will be available. Candidates can visit these institutes and can receive KCET 2015 application from from there. Application form should be filled with blue ball point pen and in neat handwriting. No cutting or scribbling should be done on it. Candidates are to send their application form with certain documents to KEA office.
Application fee of KCET 2015 can be paid through Bank or Post Office, by generating Challan from State Bank of Indian. In return candidates will receive a receipt, copy of which is again to be send with application form.
Admit Card of KCET 2015
Admit card of KCET 2015 is due on 15 April 2015. No official notification for it has been released so far. KCET 2015 admit card will be issued online. Candidates can access the official website to download it. To download admit card, candidates will have to enter details like roll number, date of birth etc. Once all the information is filled correctly candidates will be able to download their admit card.
Candidates can also receive their admit card from the same college and institution from which they purchases their application form. Candidates who posted their application form via speed post will receive their admit card via speed post.
Only those candidates will receive KCET 2015 admit who have filled application form properly and have payed application fee as well. If all the formalities of application form are done successfully and candidates still don’t receive their admit card, then they will should inform KEA as soon as possible.
KCET 2015 Exam Pattern
Exam pattern of KCET will include three paper. Physics, Chemistry and Maths for Engineering candidates. Physics, Chemistry and Biology for medical candidates. Each exam will of 60 marks each and in paper candidates will have to solve 60 questions. For correct answer 1 mark will be allotted and no provision for negative marking will be applied. Applicants will have to give Kannada language exam as well. This exam will be of 5o marks and candidates will have to score at least 12 marks to pass this exam.

- Physics: Physical World & Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy & Power, Motion of System of particles & Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter,Thermodynamics, Behavior of Perfect Gas & Kinetic Theory of gases, Oscillations & Waves, Practical Oriented questions
- Chemistry: Some Basic concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, S-Block Elements, Some p-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry: some basic Principles and Techniques, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry, Practical Oriented Questions.
- Mathematics: Sets and Function, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Calculus, Mathematical Reasoning, Statistics and Probability.
