How to answer Exam questions to score more marks
Board exams comprises of a number of different questions set in different ways. It includes
1. 1 word answers
2. Short answers [SA]
3. Long Answers[LA]
4. Essay type answers/ Problems / Derivations[Descriptive type]
Now let’s start to analyze how to answer question paper.
Tip 1. Read the question paper thoroughly
Tip 2. While reading analyze the question
It is very important that you understand exactly what question means and what you are being asked to.
Tip 3. Answer the questions which you are confident.
In board exams you’ll be having option to choose and write in SA, LA and in Descriptive type.
So while reading the question paper, mark the questions that you know to answer and you are confident.
Tip 4. After following the above steps, now start writing your answers
Tip 5. Start to answer from Last question to first question
As we all know, marks assigned to Mains increases from PART A to PART D.
For example, assume that the PART D has 4 questions carrying 5 marks each and you are asked to write any three. Since this part requires much time and has more weightage (marks) start to answer from this part.
If you waste time writing PART A (having 10 questions of 1 mark each) answer thinking a lot, you may not be able to attempt all the questions that you are required to attend.
Tip 6. Answer to the point
It’s very important that you understand exactly what a question means and what you're being asked to do. Even if your answers are well-written and factually correct, you won't pass if you've misunderstood the question and haven't answered the questions you were asked!
Note: Examiners want to make sure that you understand the subject matter and have the ability to apply what you have learned. Examiners often ask you to use these ideas to solve problems rather than have you list facts.
